The winners of both the regional phase and global phase of the Awards competition will now be announced and celebrated in 2021. The schedule and format for the Awards announcements will be published as soon as possible, taking the development of the pandemic and the safety of everyone involved into consideration.

  • Q&A platform and Helpdesk from June 4, 2019 until closing
  • Close of registration February 25, 2020 at 14:00 hrs UTC
  • Jury meetings by region June to July, 2020
  • Awards ceremonies by region September to November, 2020

The Global Ideas prize was handed-over to project authors Juan Cruz Serafini and Tomás Pont at an event organized by Holcim Argentina to coincide with a national trade fair in Córdoba. Their project with Stefano Romagnoli addresss the potential ramifications of human-induced climate change on the natural environment, the authors propose an infrastructure for the use of tidal energy in Río Gallegos estuary at Punta Loyola in Argentina.
